As I watch the first game of the second half, for the Cubs, it makes me think about my team and what will be needed to get to the post season. There are a couple of things that will need to be improved or watched out for. Many sports casters have come up with a list. Well, I’m no expert but here’s my list. REMEMBER: I’M NOT A SPORTS EXPERT
1. The away record.
This has become more important because AL won the All-Star game so we will not have home field advantage for the World Series, however, for that to matter we have to get there. We have two big series’ @ MIL that will become important one of which is the last 3 games of our season. That away record needs to improve.
2. Fukudome.
I’m a little sad about Fukudome. He is not hitting as well as he has been in the past. He is not a home run hitter by any means, but he’s not even getting on base much anymore. He used to be patient and take alot of walks, but he hasn’t been lately. He needs to get those kinks worked out.
3. Marmol.
There is no getting to the World Series without the Marmol of old. He was a great pitcher and pitched strikeout after strikeout. He’s been having a lot of trouble as of late. Last Saturday he gave up a 5 run lead. He’s been handing out walks and hitting hitters with the balls. He did well in the All-Star Game. But can that continue?
4. Health. continue reading…
